On the other hand, it is important to appraise your relationship with
all your friends if you truly desire to enjoy a blissful life after ‘I
DO’ because not every friend can add value to your marriage.
It is easy to identify good friends as they have a respect for your physical and emotional connection and would always aim to encourage a positive relationship between you and your spouse.

Judge jury
Mention your spouse to her and she changes the subject, try to tell her you got engaged and she says, ‘for real! But are you sure he is the right guy?’ Then announce your wedding dates and she says, ‘Why the hurry?’ You told her that your wedding colours are red and gold and she says colour is outrageous and not her favourite colours and you wonder, ‘Who is the bride here?’
Honestly, you may have tolerated her in your single life but you really do not need her now that you are married. She has no values to add to your lives and your marriage and will be more than willing to be the judge and jury too.
Apron string friend
Why would a friend want to tie herself to your apron even after you have left the single ladies club? Yes, you may have shared a lot of good times together while you were single but things have changed now or perhaps would have to change. A clingy friend can ruin your marriage if you do not make the necessary adjustments earlier in your marriage. A clingy friend may expect that you would continue to make yourself available even after your marriage and this could put a lot of strain in your relationship with your spouse if you allow your friend to take the much needed time you should be spending with him. It is better to prepare your friend’s mind to the realities of your new life so that she is prepared to make her own adjustments too.
